Volunteer Opportunities

MDSS is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. Our goal and objective is to enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome while providing information to professionals who work with those affected by Down syndrome. Our current board has a compliment of fifteen (15) members, all volunteering their time and energy to accomplish the above goal.

It is only through the efforts of many volunteers that projects are completed and events are held. We welcome your participation in any of the following ranges of volunteer opportunities. Please contact the office to express your interest in volunteering!

Event Committees - consist of a minimum of one board member with the balance comprising of volunteers. Committees help organize the annual Dinner Dance, Family Day events, Baby Love and Buddy Nights.

Fundraising Committees - responsible for organizing events like the Buddy Walk and applying for special grants from organizations which support specific projects.

Education Committee - this committee is dedicated to providing information to parents and professional educators through See Me Beautiful conference workshops.

Conference Committee – a unique, limited time opportunity to help organize a national conference being held in Winnipeg in 2013.
